A new hotel built on stone boulders and cement pillars, with an
investment of over Rs. 400 million, in Andarawewa, Anuradhapura, was
opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday.
The owner of the hotel B. Chandrasiri, who is also the Managing
Director of Palm Garden Village Hotel, Anuradhapura, said that he wanted
to build this hotel several years ago but the climate in the country
prevented him from doing so.
With terrorism ending Sri Lanka today is an investor's paradise and
one of the most sought after tourist destinations," he said.
The four star hotel resembling an ancient palace was built according
to his ideas and was completed within 19 months. "We have also built a
Buddhist library to promote Buddhism," he said.
