Bigger fertiliser subsidy for 2013/2014 Maha

The government has decided to increase the fertiliser subsidy given to paddy cultivators by 15 percent this year. Farmers cultivating paddy during the maha season 2013 will enjoy this benefit, said the Senior Agricultural Director NWP-PC, R.M.Jayasena.

He said, during the 2013 maha season 700,000 hectares of paddy land are expected to be cultivated.
