Dewmini Ekanayake felicitated for performing well at chess

for the school function for Dewmini Sawindya Ekanayake who

Dewmini Sawindya Ekanayake an year VI student of Vihara Maha Devi
Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy was placed among the best five students at the
Asian Chess Tournament competing in the under 11 age category at the
Citrus Hotel, Hikkaduwa.There were 32 competitors along with nine
foreigners in the age group that participated.
This tournament was held for students under 5, under 7, under 9,
under 11 under 13 and 15.Dewmini started playing chess at the age of 6
years under Priyanka Ranasinghe and S. Kadhushan Ekanayake. Her coach
now is L.V. Mudalige. |
