Ceylinco Life to award 160 schols

Ceylinco Life will award 160 scholarships to young Sri Lankans under the 13th Ceylinco Life Pranama scholarship program in February next year.

A company official last week said that its 247 branches islandwide have begun accepting applications from those eligible to be rewarded under the four-tiered scholarship scheme which recognises academic and extra-curricular achievement.

Applications close on Saturday, November 30, he said.“Over the past 12 years, the scholarship program has motivated many future leaders of Sri Lanka to strive for academic or extra-curricular achievement,” Ceylinco Life’s Managing Director and CEO, R. Renganathan said.

“It gives the company great satisfaction to see that several of them are already emerging leaders in fields such as medicine, engineering and law,” he said.

Ceylinco Life has to date presented Pranama scholarships valued at Rs 83 million to 1,614 young Sri Lankans. Ceylinco Life Pranama scholarships are presented to policyholders’ children who achieve the best results in their districts at the Year 5 scholarship examination, the GCE Ordinary Level, the GCE Advanced Level or those who excel at the national level in sports, culture, arts, drama or invention.
