Beware of bogus ticketing agencies

The Civil Aviation Authority has warned the public to be aware of bogus airline ticketing agencies and to refrain from buying air tickets from them.

All air ticketing agencies should be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority. There are currently 650 airline ticketing agencies operating in the island. However, the Authority has identified 103 unregistered agencies selling airline tickets.

The Civil Aviation Authority has started a program to provide solutions to problems faced by people travelling by air. Passengers have been requested to forward their complaints in writing to the Civil Aviation Authority at Hunupitiya Cross Road, Colombo 2. Passenger complaints can also be lodged to the Managing Officer in Charge of the Bandaranaike International Airport.
