Vehicles for 23 LG bodies

The Local Government and Provincial Councils Ministry has donated the Pickup and Tipper Vehicles to 23 local bodies in the island under the 'Pura Neguma' Development Program costing Rs.170 Million.

They could be for official use, Solid Waste Management (SWM) Project and Road Developments.

Local Government and Provincial Councils Minister A. L. M. Athaullah was the chief guest on this occasion held at the ministry recently. Ministry Secretary R. A. A. K. Ranawaka, Sri Lanka Institute of Local Governance Director and Co ordinating Secretary to the Minister Engineer M. S. Nazeer and 'Pura Neguma' Project Director Ms. Gamage were also present.

The following LG bodies participated at the function and received the vehicles.

Hambanthota Municipal Council, Mattala Municipal Council, Dambulla Municipal Council, Ampara Urban Council, Kinniya Urban Council, Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabha, Musali Pradeshiya Sabha, Galanbinthunuwewa Pradeshiya Sabha, Namaloya Pradeshiya Sabha, Vavuniya Pradeshiya Sabha, Pathiyathalawa Pradeshiya Sabha, Ampathanganga Karala Pradeshiya Sabha, Yattawatta Pradeshiya Sabha, Walapana Pradeshiya Sabha, Vanathavillu Pradeshiya Sabha, Ratnapura Pradeshiya Sabha, Weluvittiya Pradeshiya Sabha, Kattuwana Pradeshiya Sabha, Pittapethra Pradesiya Sabha, Kolanna Pradeshiya Sabha, Ayagama Pradeshiya Sabha, Empilipittiya Pradeshiya Sabha and Kahawatta Pradeshiya Sabha.
