Ambassador Kongahage visits Southern Baden Region

On the invitation of the Federal President, Joachim Gauck, the
Diplomatic Corps accredited in the Federal Republic of Germany visited
the Southern Baden region in the Southwest of Germany. As a member of
the delegation of Ambassadors, Sri Lankan Ambassador Sarath Kongahage
participated in the visit.
In the city of Freiburg, visitors were welcomed by Lord Mayor Dieter
Salomon and Baden-Württemberg Minister President Winfried Kretschmann.
During the guided tour of the Cathedral of Freiburg, the visitors were
entertained by Archbishop Robert Zollitsch, the Chairman of the
Conference of German Bishops.
The visitors were then welcomed at the town hall of Freiburg.
Ambassador Kongahage had cordial conversations with high-ranking
personalities from the German political scene and colleagues of the
Diplomatic Corps regarding present situation in Sri Lanka. |
