Malwatte – highest tea price in August

Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC (MVP) has obtained the highest overall average price for tea irrespective of elevation and the highest price for high grown tea in August among all regional plantation companies.

The overall average price recorded was Rs. 520.92 per kg while in the high grown tea category MVP's recorded an average price of Rs.606.28 per kg.Talawakelle Plantations recorded the second highest average price of Rs. 484.32 per kg in the high grown category.

In the medium grown category the highest price of Rs. 486.65 per kg was obtained by Kahawatta Plantations.
