BoC focuses on family in product and service offerings
Over the past 75 years the Bank of Ceylon (BoC) has incorporated the
development of the entire family from children to adults into its
product and service offerings.
"In accordance with the theme, 'The family protects you', the bank
has paved the way to ease this burden of responsibility for all adults,
who have to nurture their young," a bank spokesman said.
Ran Kekulu, children's savings account focuses on improving a child's
security. Parents can obtain several financial and non-financial
benefits through Ran Kekulu accounts, without risk. This account
presents an additional 1% interest and offers the account holders
medical insurance.
The bank also maintains students' savings units at schools. Ran
Kekulu Sansada, BoC's school savings units help students to save their
pocket money at school level. Ran Kekulu Sansada is the bank's mini
model branch at school level.
The BoC operates over 3,500 school savings units.
The bank has been conducting Ran Kekulu Hapana grade five scholarship
seminars from 2000.
These seminars are conducted by a panel of well-experienced
professional teachers.
The BoC has conducted more than 950 seminars islandwide up to date.
14plus is an innovative savings account for teenagers between the ages
of 14-18. The account has been designed to inculcate the habit of saving
among teenagers.
The bank recently introduced new features to Ran Ulpatha regular
saver's account, with double interest to reward loyal customers.
For the senior citizens, BoC has introduced the 'Senior Citizens'
Savings Account and 'The Senior Citizens Fixed Deposits' with higher
interest rates.
"Through its special accounts Bank of Ceylon serves the most
important unit in society, the family, guiding it by providing a
righteous and safe path to secure their future," the spokesman said. |
