Abans launches study programs
Scicom Education Group of Scicom Lanka (Pvt) Limited, launched a trio
of Service Management study programs designed for those in the service
industry that is transforming economies around the world. Scicom Lanka
is a joint venture between Scicom (MSC) Berhad Malaysia and Abans.
Service Management is a field that focuses on proved methodologies to
raise the level of customer service for maximum customer retention and
loyalty.The programs cater to school leavers and experienced service
professionals.
CSE to attract new listings
The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) is organising an Issuer Relations
forum, 'Listing on the Colombo Stock Exchange – A mark of distinction'
at Cinnamon Grand on October 11 at 6.00 pm. The forum will give unlisted
companies an insight on listing shares and corporate debt on the CSE.
Assistant General Manager, Regulatory Affairs of the CSE, Renuke
Wijayawardhane will speak on Listing of Equity and Debt on the Colombo
Stock Exchange.There will be panel discussion comprising W. K. H.
Wegapitiya, D. P. Kumarage, Renuke Wijayawardhane and Ms. Otara
Gunewardene.
HNB Assurance marks World Children’s Day
On October 1, HNB Assurance providing a clean drinking water supply
system to Maithreepura Vidyalaya, Padaviya, Anuradhapura, to mark World
Children's Day.
“Residents of this village were deprived of a clean water system for
many years and it was HNB Assurance which set up a water supply system
for the children and the residents of the village,” a company spokesman
said.
General Manager, Marketing and Distribution, HNB Assurance, Lalith
Fernando said, “It is a great privilege for us to provide the drinking
water supply system for the children.”
Blue Ocean buys Link Engineering
The Blue Ocean Group of Companies, which builds condominiums,
recently bought over construction company, Link Engineering (Pvt)
Limited.
“Blue Ocean can now provide its services at lower rates than earlier,
as they do not have to turn to another company for essential services,”
a company spokesman said.
The Blue Ocean Group headed by S Thumilan, has also launched an
educational wing, Knowledge Base Private Studies Limited, which focuses
on accountancy studies.
“The institution has suitable equipment and facilities for the
conduct of lectures,” the spokesman said.
Rajeeva Bandaranaike CEO of CSE
The Board of Directors of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has
appointed Rajeeva Bandaranaike as the Chief Executive Officer of the CSE
from November 14. Bandaranaike is the CEO of Orient Finance PLC and was
CEO of Peoples Merchant Bank PLC from July 2011 to May 2012. He served
the CSE from July 1992 to June 2011 and was also Head of Clearing and
Settlement and Head of Business Development. He holds a Masters in
Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Southern Queensland
(USQ), Australia and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the Open
University of Sri Lanka.
Anverally Tea wins four NCE Export awards
Anverally and Sons, Chairman, Mohamed Anverally receives the Most
Outstanding Exporter for the year 2012 Gold Award from Industry and
Commerce Ministry, Secretary, Anura Siriwardena. From left: Director,
