A-3 Road to be upgraded

The Ports and Highways Ministry has started upgrading the Colombo-Puttalam A-3 Road.

The first stage of the project would see the road from Peliyagoda to Ja-ela being developed. According to Ports and Highways Deputy Minister Nirmala Kothalawala, Rs. 3.5 billion will be spent on the first stage of construction, which is expected to be completed by July next year.

The Minister has said the development process will be carried out according to a well-prepared plan. Infrastructure such as car parks and pavements will be organised to make transportation more efficient.
