The annual Esala festival and cultural pageant of the Walasmulla
Sittamgallena Rajamaha Vihara will be held from October 15-21, under the
patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Randoli perahera will parade the streets on October 19 at 9.00
p.m. Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, Economic Development Minister Basil
Rajapaksa, Defence Secretary, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Uva Chief Minister,
Shasheendra Rajapaksa and Hambantota district MP, Namal Rajapaksa will
grace the occasion.
The Esala Festival was launched in 1968 to pay homage to God Rajjuru
Bandara and is held this for the 46th consecutive year.
