Combank launches 'Achiever' current account

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has introduced 'Achiever', a current account exclusively for young Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and executives.

Executives and entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35 with a monthly income of Rs 50,000 or above are eligible to open 'Achiever' current accounts.

An Achiever account holder is eligible for an overdraft facility equivalent to two months salary or income, up to a maximum of Rs 300,000 and loan and lease facilities without guarantors at interest rates one percent lower than prevailing rates, a bank spokesman said.

'Achiever' account holders can also earn interest on the surplus funds in their accounts by opening linked money market or regular savings accounts and transferring funds from their Achiever accounts to these accounts.

The bank will waive the joining fee and the first year annual fee on credit cards and on internet banking and mobile banking facilities for every 'Achiever' account holder. A branded cheque book, the option to receive monthly e-statements and a free ATM cum shopping debit card are also included in the list of benefits.

"Young executives and entrepreneurs will shape and build the future of Sri Lanka," Commercial Bank, Deputy General Manager, Personal Banking, S. Renganathan said.
