Health Ministry to use only fresh milk

The Ministry of Health has decided to use only fresh milk to serve guests at functions or ceremonies that are organised by the Ministry in the future.

All guests would be treated with fresh milk instead of powdered milk as it paves the way for the local dairy farmers to sell their fresh milk production at a reasonable price to the government. The ministry also has decided to provide all indoor patients at government hospitals with fresh milk for the requisite nutritional levels as per medical advice.

All Doctors islandwide have approved this decision said Dr. A.M. Pemadasa, a senior doctor of the Kurunegala District government Doctors' Welfare Society.
