Puttalam district gets more facilities

Chief Minister of NWP Dayasiri Jayasekera sad that there is “an immense imbalance in the Northwestern Province between Kurunegala and Puttalam Districts in terms of educational advancement. Kurunegala District enjoys the swift educational advancement while Puttalam District struggle to keep pace with it”.

He was speaking at the ceremony of laying foundation stone for the ‘Mahindodaya’ laboratory at Thigali Muslim Maha Vidyalaya, the Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to develop the standard of education of Puttalam District as quick as possible.

The children who perform well in their class and school level examinations should not be allowed to lag behind in public examinations. If their performance in the public examinations it is not their fault, it is the mistake of their teachers. It is the duty of the teachers to work hard to develop the standards of students.

"As long as I hold the office of the Chief Minister of NWP I will not allow teachers to be appointed to schools of Kurunegala District overlooking Puttalam District. I always have a soft corner for the Muslim Community of my Province. They are aware of this fact. It was the reason why they voted to me wholeheartedly, he said.
