Iqball Qasim 9 for 84 had Aussies cornered all ends up

Pakistan had it easy and they went on to beat Australia by an innings and 188 runs in the Test match played at Karachi on September 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20.

The Australians were unhappy with the decisions of the umpires and they also blamed the Karachi pitch. Australian skipper Alan Border too was not pleased with the umpiring.

Pakistan skipper Mianded accused the Australians of using unnecessary tactics on the umpires in an effort of saving them from defeat after failing to find a answer to Iqbal Qasim's left-arm spin. He also charged the Aussies of using third degree methods to blame the umpire sand the pitch.

Pakistan's Javed Miandad accused the Australians of using pressure tactics against the umpires.

Javed Mianded (211), Shoaib Mohammed (94) put Pakistan on top. The Australians were never in with a chance.

Batting first, Pakistan was steered to 469 for 8 wickets with captain Javed Mianded who made 211, his fifth double century in Test cricket.

Then the Pakistan spin attack Iqbal Qasim (5 for 35) in the first innings and 4 for 49 in the first innings and 4 for 49 in the second innings tied the Australian batsmen down. Australia were able to make only 165 in the first innings and 116 runs in the second innings to leave the home team a winner by an innings and 188 runs.

The star bowler of Pakistan team – Iqbal Qasim had a field day in the match and claimed 5 for 35 in the first innings Australian total of 165 and then in the second innings had 4 for 49 in Australia’s second innings total of 116 to have a match-bag of 9 for 85 which helped Pakistan to beat Australia by an innings and 188 runs at Karachi.


Javed Miandad – the Pakistan captain who made 211 runs out of a total of 469 for 9 wickets declared and helped his team to forge ahead. Australia were out for 169 and 116 runs in their two innings.



 


Abdul Qadir bowled tidily taking 2 for 54 in first innings of 37 overs with 16 maidens and 3 for 33 in second innings off 13 overs with 4 maidens.


Shoaib Mohammad – made a delightful 94 and helped the team to build up the innings.
