SLT receives Merit Certificate
Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) received a Merit Certificate at the Sri Lanka
National Energy Efficiency Awards (SLNEEA) organised by Sri Lanka
Sustainable Energy Authority and the Ministry of Environment and
Renewable Energy.
The SLNEEA 2013 was held at the BMICH to coincide with the
inauguration of the energy exhibition, Vidulka 2013.
DGM, Power and AC, SLT, Niranjana Bandula Seneviratne received the
certificate on behalf of SLT from Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne.
Environment and Renewable Energy Minister Susil Premajayantha, Deputy
Minister A.M. Abdul Cader, Ministry Secretary, B.M.U.D. Basnayake,
Chairman, Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority, Prasad Galhena and
Director General Dr. Thusitha Sugathapala were also present.
"We are proud of this achievement, which is a first step to becoming
a more green organisation," said SLT, Chief Network Officer Priyantha
Fernandez.
"We have always been environmentally focused and as a large corporate
entity, we believe it is our responsibility to ensure that business is
conducted with minimum negative impact on the environment and
effectively minimise the carbon footprint," he said. |
