All examination results via internet and SMS

The results of all examinations conducted by the Department of Examinations can now be viewed via the internet and SMS (Short Message Service).

The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) Chairman, Prof. P. W. Epasinghe said, "The launch of this e-Service under ICTA's Re-engineering Government Program will facilitate viewing results of all examinations conducted by the Department of Examinations.

Commissioner General of Examinations, W. M. N. J. Pushpakumara said that the Examinations Department conducts more than 300 examinations annually. Only the results of a few examinations are issued via internet and SMS.

These include the GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level and Grade Five scholarship examinations.

However, under ICTA's e-Services initiative, it will be possible to know the results of all examinations of the Department examinations via internet and SMS.

Prof. P. W. Epasinghe said that it will also be possible to apply for an official copy of the examination result via the internet or SMS. The ICTA Chairman said that Sri Lanka is the first country in South Asia that provides such an e-Service.

ICTA provides several important services to the people via internet and SMS.

All activities from obtaining vehicle revenue licence to the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) rate payments are carried out with the aid of information technology.

The examination results could be viewed through results.exams.gov.lk and through srilanka.lk.

The results can also be viewed by sending an SMS to 1919 using the short code 'exams', 'exam code', 'index no'. The Department of Examinations will be publish the 'exam code' when it releases the results of examinations.
