Heavy vehicles for EP Local bodies

The Local Government Department of Eastern Provincial Council has donated Backhoes, Loaders, Motor Graders and Roller Heavy Vehicles to Local Government bodies in the Eastern Province under the Pura Neguma Development Program. The cost is Rs.34. 5 million funded by Economic Development Ministry.

These would be utilised for Solid Waste Management (SWM) Project , Building Construction and Road Development etc.

The Eastern Province Chief Minister and Local Government Minister Najeeb Abdul Majeed was the chief guest on this occasion.

Chief Secretary V.M.S. Abegunawardena, Chief Ministry Secretary U. L. A. Azees, Local Government Commissioner M.Y. Saleem, Pura Neguma Deputy Project Director S. Thamil Selvan, Regional Assistant Commissioners of Local Government Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomalee, and Pura Neguma Project officials were also present.
