Peterites get first innings points

St. Peter's secured first innings points over Royal in their drawn school cricket encounter which ended at Reid Avenue yesterday.

In reply to Royal's first innings total of 227 for 7 declared the Peterites who were 89 for 4 overnight declared their innings at 233 for 8 after facing 67 overs. The Peterie innings was built around four useful innings by Janith Liyanage 68, Kavinda Tissera 32, Didulana Medis 34 and Lakshira Rodrigo 47.

Royal going in for the second time were 165 for 9 in 47 overs with a top score of 56 by skipper Devind Pathmanathan.

Royal 229 for 7 declared (Randev Pathirana 91, Geeshat Panditharatne 46, Shaminda Dias 23, Thiran Dhanapala 31, Sahan Nanayakkara 3 for 53, Naveen Dharshana 2 for 40) and 165 for 9 at close in 47 overs ( Devind Pathmanathan 56, Shaminda Dias 34, Randev Pathirana 23, Dinu Mohotti 4 for 48, Navin Dharshana 3 for 48, Sahan Nanayakkara 2 for 31).

St. Peter's (89 for 4 overnight) 233 for 8 declared (Janith Liyanage 68, Kavinda Tissera 32, Didulana Medis 30, Lakshira Rodrigo 47, Anupa Tillekeratne 3 for 48, Chamika Karunaratne 2 for 69).
