Training aircraft lands without a wheel

A Cessna 152 training aircraft made an emergency landing at the Ratmalana Domestic Airport when one of its three wheels fell on the Southern Expressway yesterday morning, a spokesman for the Sri Lanka Air Force said.

The light aircraft owned by a private pilot training school in Ratmalana landed safely when one of its wheels detached mid air.

The detached wheel had reportedly fallen on the Southern Expressway in Millaniya.

No serious damage to the aircraft nor injuries to the pilot were reported, the Police Spokesman said.
