The Brandix Group's status as Sri Lanka's largest corporate blood
donor for the fourth consecutive year was acknowledged at an event held
in Colombo in commemoration of World Blood Donor Day.
Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena presented the Group with a
special plaque of appreciation at the World Blood Donor Day hosted by
Sri Lanka at the BMICH recently.
Sri Lanka is the first South Asian country to host this annual global
event attended by the World Health Organisation (WHO), International
Society of Red Cross and Red Crescent, International Society of Blood
Transfusion (ISBT), Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (AATM),
the International Federation of Blood Donor Organisations and the Asia
Pacific Blood Network.
Brandix launched an annual blood collection drive across the Group's
manufacturing plants in Sri Lanka in 2007, and has now been recognised
by the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) as the country's
largest corporate blood donor consecutively since 2010. |
