Life back to normal in riot-hit areas

Law enforcement authorities have restored peace and normalcy in the riot-hit areas of Aluthgama, Beruwala and Matugama with 58 suspects being taken in for questioning, the police said. Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said life has returned to normal with shops and commercial establishments functioning as usual.

Bribery Commission completes 818 investigations

The Bribery Commission has completed investigations against 818 heads of government departments up to now. There were 167 complaints, the majority of which were against government school authorities and officials in the education field.
