A school of cricket for montessori children
Tiny Tots Montessori, Aweriwatta Road, Wattala, opened a school of
cricket for montessori children recently.
The chief guest at the event was former Sri Lanka skipper, Chairman
Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee and Deputy Minister of Postal
Services, Sanath Jayasuriya.
A montessori cricket practice wicket is a concept of CEO, Anura
Amaratunga, a marketeer with CIM(UK) and APMF(Asia Pasific) of Hemas
Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd and CEO of the ALSDA Educational Institute.
'Dedicated coaching towards success' is the motto of Tiny Tots
Montessori, Wattala. Shiromie Amaratunga, who is also AMI qualified is a
directress. Minister Sanath Jayasuriya opened the 'Pitch' by bowling the
first ball to a student. He said the idea originated just after the Sri
Lanka won the T-20 World Cup. All students will have an opportunity to
learn cricket under the supervision of a qualified and experienced coach
from the CCC School of Cricket, during school hours.

The 'pitch' is also open for outside children up to the age of 12.
Last year Julian Bolling opened a montessori indoor swimming pool at the
school premises. |
