The World Organisation of the Scout Movement recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Chief Scout, President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the conclusion of the 8th Asia Pacific Regional Top Leaders’ Summit in Sri Lanka.The Certificate was presented to President Rajapaksa for “his meritorious and outstanding support to World Scouting and for the development of young people in Sri Lanka.” The certificate of Appreciation was presented to the President by Janaprith Fernando, Member World Organisation of the Scout Movement Asia Pacific Region and International Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scouts at the President's House recently. Present on the occasion were Leslie Rupasinghe, President SLSA, Prof. Nimal De Silva Chief Commissioner, Ransiri Perera, Chairman Executive Committee of SLSA and Rohan Fernando Assistant Chief Commissioner.

Ten two-wheeler tractors were distributed among the Vegetable Growers’ Association in Meepilimana in the Nuwara Eliya district, under the patronage of Minister of Public Management Reforms, Navin Dissanayake and Minister of Agriculture, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana recently. Here Minister Dissanayake presents the relevant documents to a farmer representative.
