Vimukthi hammers century as Air Force pile up 329

Air Force made a bold reply with 329 runs in their first innings in reply to Tamil Union's 294. Dasun Vimukthi scored a brilliant century (131) hitting seven sixes and 12 fours in 172 balls on the second day of their Under-23 Division One three-day match played at P Sara Oval yesterday.

Tamil Union off spinner Ramith Rambukwella (3-75) was the pick of the bowlers. In their second innings, the hosts were 9-0 at stumps.

Tamil Union: 294 all out in 73.5 overs (Pabasara Waduge 79, Minhaj Jaleel 48, Pulina Tharanga 45, Manoj Saratchandra 37, Devin Padmanathan 33, Isuru Buddhika 22, Dasun Wimukthi 6-61, Pramod Chathuranga 3-103) and 9-0

Air Force: 329 all out in 98.2 overs (Dushan Vimukthi 131, Udara Ranasinghe 43, T Nadeera 33, Ramith Rambukwella 3-75)

Lahiru (134) steers NCC to 361

NCC made 361 runs in their first innings with a superb century by Lahiru Madusanka (134). Madusanka hit seven sixes and 10 boundaries. He put on a 99-run stand for the sixth wicket with Tharindu Kaushal (52) against Moors in their Under-23 Division One match played at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Moors: 263 all out in 66.1 overs (Oshadha Fernando 91, Ruwantha Kellepotha 58, Shehan Jayasuriya 35, Thikshala de Silva 24, Tharindu Kaushal 4-90, Ravindu Tillakratne 2-23, Dushmantha Chameera 2-50) and 92-2 in 24 overs (Shehan Jayasuriya 36 n,o Sangeeth Cooray 21 n,o).

NCC: 361 all out in 84.3 overs (Lahiru Madusanka 134, Sandun Weerakkody 54, Tharindu Kaushal 52, Niroshan Dickwella 53, Chalana de Silva 3-64, Shehan Jayasuriya 2-57, Kaushalya Gajasinghe 2-81)

Bloomfield vs Negombo CC at Bloomfield

Inham's second fifty props up Negombo CC

Akil Inham (61 not out) scored his second half century in the match as Negombo Cricket Club led by 178 runs with six wickets in hand. Bloomfield skipper Vishwa Fernando completed five wickets in the match taking three quick wickets. Ealier, Bloomfield were bowled out for 194 with Damith Priyadarshana making 69. Malshan Gunasinghe had a five-wicket haul. - SJ
