The Primary Section of Buddhist Ladies' College will hold its Art & Craft Exhibition on July 4 at the College Main Hall from 8.00 a.m.

'Grade-5 Scholarship Examination' will be the main theme.

The Senior Old Anandians will hold its third get-together at the Women's International Club, Guilford Crescent, Colombo 7 on July 13 from 9.30 a.m.

Book launch on July 3

Sampath Bandara's latest book 'Ananda Coomaraswamy, the life and works of a Universal Man' will be launched at the National Library and Documentation Services Board auditorium, Colombo 7 on July 3 at 3.30 p.m.

Prof. Sarath Chandrajeewa and Dr. Sunil Wijesiriwardhane will deliver the lectures.


Katahandaka Pelahara - Srimath's latest

TV artiste Srimath Indrajith Liyanage has lent his voice to a number of teledramas which are currently screened - Swarnavahini's Maha Bharatha, Derana's, Dutugemunu' and Sirasa's Arrow.

He will shortly launch his latest concert, Katahandaka Pelahara, a collection of his previous performances.

 

 


Dr. Vandana Shiva's lecture tomorrow

One of the leading environmentalist and rights activist Dr. Vandana Shiva will deliver a lecture on 'Right for Seed and Water', 'A Campaign for alternative development model' on June 30 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. at the Centre for Banking Studies auditorium, Sri Jayawardenapura Mawatha, Rajagiriya.

Dr. Shiva will share her experiences in India and in other parts of the world about the struggles of farmers, women and other social groups against neo-liberal economic agenda and corporate agriculture.

The lecture opens to the public.


Festival of Buddhist short plays

A festival of Buddhist short plays will be held at the YMBA auditorium, Colombo 8 from Sept 26 to 28. The first round of the drama festival will be held at the same venue on July 5 and 6. The plays selected from the first round will be staged at the YMBA auditorium, Colombo 8 on Sept 28.


Regional workshop on July 1, 2

A regional workshop on 'Space Technology Applications for Drought Monitoring and Early Warning' organised by the the Arthur C Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies (ACCIMT) in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) will be held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel on July 1 and 2.
