‘Bunkering at H'tota will attract more vessels’

commended the commissioning of the bunkering facilities and the tank
farm at the Hambantota port last week. It will help attract a large
number of vessels and boost the port's transshipment status in the
Tourism exhibition concludes
Sancharaka Udawa 2014, the exhibition that
showcases development of the tourism industry in Sri Lanka, was held
in Colombo last week. The exhibition was organised for the fourth
consecutive year by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA)
with the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO).
Rice imports stabilise prices
Rice prices in the market have stabilised with
stocks of rice imported from India and Pakistan coming into the
market. However, there is no significant price decline and the
wholesale price of local Nadu was over Rs. 66 per kg and local samba
was over Rs. 76.
