Modern day slavery traps thirty-six million

Newly released figures show that almost
36-million people around the globe are trapped in modern day
slavery. The Walk Free Foundation’s Global Slavery Index, published
on Monday, said these figures were 20 percent higher than those of
the 2013’s because of improved methodology.

Most people in Hong Kong seek end to street protests

In a sign of waning public support for protests
against an election law in Hong Kong, a new poll suggests most
people in the region want an end to the street demonstrations. A
recent survey released by the Chinese University of Hong Kong
revealed that 67.4 percent of respondents said anti-election law
protesters should leave the streets of Hong Kong.
