The 153rd annual feast of St. Mary's Church, Mattakkuliya will be
celebrated on Sunday, December 14, said the parish priest Rev. Fr.
Christopher Madurawela (OMI).
The theme of this year's celebrations is "To Jesus through the Virgin
Mary."
The flagstaff will be hoisted on Friday, December 5 followed by the
first Novena organised by St. Mary's Lane. All Novenas will start at
6.30 p.m. daily.
Vespers will be sung on Saturday, December 13 presided over by Rev.
Fr. Anjelo Wijewickrama (OMI).
Rev. Fr. Rohan Silva (OMI) will officiate at the festive High Mass in
English and Sinhala on December 14 at 7.30 a.m.
The procession carrying the statue of Our Blessed Mother will wend
its way along St. Mary's Lane, Church Road, Kelani Ganga Mills Road,
Pransewatte, Sri Wickremapura, Farm Road, Kadiranawatta, Ekamuthupura,
Vystwyke Road and St. Mary's Road and return to the Church, Fr.
Madurawala said. |
