Sri Lanka win by eight wickets

Mahela Jayawardene and his great mate Kumar Sangakkara were in concert when they were instrumental in beating England comprehensively by 8 wickets with sixty four deliveries still at their disposal adding 149 runs for the third wicket to send Sri Lanka two up in the seven ODI series at the R.Premadasa Stadium in a day game yesterday.

Police in stunning 41-22 win over CR and FC

Police Sports Club came up with a stupendous performance to score a smashing 41 points (four goals, two tries, one penalty) to 22 (one goal, three tries) victory over more fancied CR and FC in their Dialog ‘A’ Division League rugby match played at Longden Place yesterday after leading 17-7 at the ‘breather’.

Johnians win by 11 runs

St John’s College Panadura beat Kalutara Vidyalaya by 11 runs in their inter-school under-13 Division One second round match played at Panadura. Vidyalians bating first were all out for 95 runs with Sidath Sakvithi capturing 4 for 41 and in reply Johnians made 106 runs and at stumps visitors were 104 for 2.
