67th Independence Day - February 4, 2015:
National flag unites all communities
We remember that the Independence of Ceylon (as
Sri Lanka was known) was obtained on February 4, 1948 from British
Rule, by smooth transition after India gained its independence.

Right to Information or Freedom of Information:
People entitled to know how tax money is spent
President Maithripala Sirisena in his manifesto
promised to bring a bill entitled Right to Information. Karu
Jayasuriya, M.P. was instrumental in bringing a legislation covering
the Right to Information, but it was rejected by Parliament earlier.
