Casa Colombo Collection builds villa in Mirissa

Casa Colombo Collection Mirissa embodies the eclectic design philosophy that Casa Colombo and the Collection have become synonymously famous for.

The new hotel combines the modern feel of a luxurious villa with designer furniture, some classically southern Sri Lankan antique pieces and eclectic beachcomber finds, to create a warm, charming and exotic boutique hotel, said founder, designer and CEO Lalin Michael Jinasena.

The hotel is fronted by a long, curving immaculate beach that seems to never end. With hardly any large hotels in the neighbourhood, guests get to enjoy this beautiful unencumbered beach entirely to themselves.

"Our beach front features lavish day beds, sun lounges and a fireplace gazebo, perfect for enjoying a sundown cocktail," he said.

The property has six suites, five of which overlook the beach and the blue sea and have direct access to it. All suites have been styled with intricate attention to detail in design and comfort.

They feature hand-crafted leather, decadent glass bottle lights, designer furniture, seashells and beautiful drift-wood to create that beachcomber feeling. "Our intelligent design philosophy ensures that lights are where you need them most, and plug points are within easy reach.

Our suites come complete with Bluetooth enabled music systems along with candles and incense to set the mood," he said.

You can watch TV and movies, or enjoy a brew with your own Nespresso coffee machine or a selection of fine Ceylon tea. Many suites have large garden bathrooms and expansive balconies and terraces with day beds and outdoor rattan seating to sit out and enjoy the views and incredible sunsets, General Manager Horst Schmidtke said.

Casa Colombo Collection, Mirissa, is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding on the beach.

"The Blue Whales, Orcas, Sperm Whales and many dolphins are right in our backyard," he said.

Mirissa has become the epicentre for this activity in Sri Lanka and we arrange whale watching tours through our partners in the Mirissa marina.

The Dutch Fort in Galle, one of the most beautiful fort cities which retains much of its Dutch colonial architecture and charm is a short drive from Mirissa.

CASA Colombo Collection is different in style, in its ethos of intelligent design, customer care and the attention to detail that has been infused into every element of its hotel and service. It is exclusive and personal, with a sense of homeliness that most 'conventional' hotel chains cannot provide. Most of all, Casa Colombo Collection is an experience that will never cease to delight the senses.
