To date Venture Engine has supported around 15 companies through its
fund of Rs. 500 million. Takas, Trekurious, Ridgecrest, Saraii, Nithya,
Glitteray and 24-7 Techies are some of the companies that have being
propelled into the fast lane through exposure and mentoring.
Co-founder of Blue Ocean Ventures, Prajeeth Balasubramaniam said that
the program is accepted by many start ups for its mentoring and
sustained support to boost businesses.
"It more than funding that draws many companies to us. Several
beneficiary companies of the program that is on its fourth year shared
their success stories and the importance of such a mechanism to guide
entrepreneurs who lack financial support and the know-how to develop
business," he said.
"We have gained a lot to expand our business to the international
market," said a young entrepreneur.
Blue Ocean Ventures co-founder Rajan Anandan said that Venture
Engine, as in previous years, will open doors to financial backing and
provide access to a wealth of expertise in the form of workshops and
mentoring via Lankan Angel Network and Indian Angel Network.
Expolanka, Orion City and Dialog Axiata are the sponsors of the
program. |
