S-lon wins Taiki Akimoto 5S merit award


Group Director, Capital Maharaja Organisation, S. C. Weerasekera receives the Taiki Akimoto 5S award.

S-lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd won the annual competition organised by the Japan-Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) to encourage public and private organisations to adopt effective Japanese Management Systems such as 5S, Kaizen and CSR. The ‘Taiki Akimoto 5S Merit Award’ for 2014 was presented to the company at the 19th JASTECA awards ceremony recently.

The Ambassador for Japan in Sri Lanka, Nobuhito Hobo was the chief guest. The Taiki Akimoto 5S award recognises and rewards overall performance excellence of organisations and strictly evaluates applicants upon a broad range of criteria as per 5S standards. The Taiki Akimoto 5S award presented to S-lon commends its continued success to reduce waste and optimise productivity by maintaining an orderly and a secure workplace and using visual cues to achieve more consistent operational results.
