Singer workshop for home science teachers
Singer Sri Lanka has partnered with the Home Science Department of
the Education Ministry to host home science teachers from various parts
of the island at a customised workshop - Soopa Shasthra Vedamuluwa.
The workshop was designed to educate the teachers and keep them
apprised of the latest kitchen appliances and techniques.
The workshop seeks to nurture a generation of empowered youth
well-versed in culinary arts and its trends, and provide a
time-management solution for today's busy woman.
The Ministry of Education facilitated this program by coordinating
with and enlisting the participation of teachers from all schools.
The workshop, which consisted of six full-day sessions, was held at
Sri Lanka Management Office (SLMO) in Colombo, with two additional
sessions in Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. Each session was conducted by
Singer's Sujiva Vithana, who is a graduate and senior lecturer at the
Hotel School and a visiting lecturer at the International Hotel School.
Ms. Vithana said, "We are glad that we at Singer contributed to
uplifting the knowledge of the home science teachers, and empower
generations to come."
Singer ensured that all of the course participants were made to feel
welcome and comfortable in addition to receiving a comprehensive
training and educational material that would support them in their
school curriculum. |
