Dear children,

We have the story of Saradiel in our pages today. Saradiel was known as the Robinhood of Sri Lanka' because he robbed from the rich and gave it to the poor. Sadly, his goodness came to light only after his death.

When he was living he was pursued like a common criminal and he had to go into hiding. His last hiding place was Utuwankanda. It is this spot that tells us his story. Now statues depicting his many feats can be seen here.
