Helping Nepal
‘Helping Nepal’ Sri Lankan Muslims Forum, a voluntary network of
leading Muslim Civil Societies including the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul
Ulama (ACJU), Muslim Council of Sri Lanka (MCSL), National Shoora
Council (NSC) Sri Lanka Jama’the islami (SLJI), Serendip Foundation for
Relief and Development (SFRD), Association of Muslim Youths of Sailan –
Jamiathus shabab (AMYS), Muslim Foundation for Culture Development (MFCD),
Jamathus Salama, Colombo District Masjids Federation (CDMF), Caring
Hands (CH), World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), International Islamic
Relief Organization (IIRO), All Ceylon Thowheed Jamath (ACTJ), Sri Lanka
Muslim Media Forum (SLMMF), Muslim Aid of Sri Lanka, Al Muslimath,
Knowledge Box (KB), is urging all Muslims in Sri Lanka to help by
providing essential items or donation by way of cash to provide
immediate relief to the earthquake victims of Nepal. To date more than
7000 people have lost their lives and more than 10,000 are injured and
are in dire need for food, clean water for drinking, shelter, sanitation
facilities and medical support.
Following item are needed to be sent to Nepal immediately:
1. Blankets (new ones)
2. Tents or Tarpaulin
3. First Aid Kits
4. Hygienic Kits (for new born babies & infants)
5. Sanitary Pads & Diapers (for babies & ladies)
6. Food items:
I. Milk food
II. Rice
III. Dhal
IV. Canned food (Tin Fish)
V. Water Bottles (1 or 1.5 Liter)
7. Medical items for the emergency situation.
Collections centres have established and maintained with the
coordination of ACJU & CDMF at the following venues:
1. Dehiwela: Dehiwela Jumma Masjid ( Grand Mosque)
2. Colpetty: Colpetty Jumma Masjid
3.Maradana: Kalandhar Sahib Masjid
4. Demetagoda: Minan Masjid
5.Kolannawa: Kolannawa Jumma Masjid
6. Salve Island: Akbar Masjid
7. Pettah: Keselwatte Jumma Masjid
