Solar Liberator introduces:
Locally developed solar energy products
by Rohana Jayalal
Solar Liberator introduced three solar energy based products to the
market recently.
The products are 'Solar Stream', 'Solar Garden Lamp' and 'Solar
Mariner'.
"The world power crisis has affected every nook and corner of the
earth. We look forward to promote our products locally and
internationally. We have our own Research and Development (R&D)
facilities. The products we are launching today cover various energy
needs of the people," Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Solar
Liberator, Amalka Elayperuma said.
The company which is passionate about solar energy which helps to
save the environment as fossil fuels have caused lasting damage to the
environment, the chairman said.
"Solar Liberator hopes to become a leading solar power solution
provider locally and internationally. We do not copy other company's or
people's technology or products, because we are a real Sri Lankan
company doing new and different things," he said.
Sales Manager, Solar Liberator, Thusitha Nanayakkara said the 'Solar
Mariner' mostly helps the fisher community as they are exposed to
sunlight most of the time. It is a product that generates power as long
as there is sunlight and designed and built with quality materials to
endure the tough conditions encountered in marine environments.
It can be used to power lamps, charge mobiles and GPS devices or as
an emergency source of power.
'Solar Stream', a solar-powered water pump system uses sunlight to
generate electricity and provide power to run water pumps. It is ideal
for agricultural and remote areas with limited access to electricity, he
said.
The garden lamps could be set up anywhere within two minutes as they
use modern batteries to provide light up to 10 hours. It is ideal for
gardens, camping and other outdoor events, and this automatically
switches on at noon and it is an instrument that can be installed
permanently or moved from place to place, Nanayakkara said. The world
uses 54,000,000 GJ of energy every hour and the energy received from the
sun is 625,000,000,000 GJ, which means that the earth receives more
energy from the sun every hour than what the whole world use in an year.
Sri Lanka receives an average 4.5 KW of solar energy on every square
metre every day.
Solar Liberator systems don't cause pollution and doesn't need any
other resources for its operations, a solar-power system gives you noise
and pollution free electricity for 30, 40, 50 or even more years.
Solar panels absorb heat radiation which contribute to a reduction of
ambient temperature of buildings by approximately three degrees. Solar
systems use land and roof areas effectively for energy generation,
Nanayakkara said. |
