Precision Lapidaries turns 20
Precision Lapidaries, an exporter of cut and polished calibrated
sapphires recently celebrated its 20th anniversary at The Kingsbury.

The top management, business personnel, artists, employees and their
family members were also present. The company felicitated employees who
contributed to the successful journey of 20 years. The awards were
presented according to the period of service, talent shown in different
divisions and performance.
The Managing Director's father, Tilly Salie, was also felicitated for
his guidance to the growth of the company. He was presented with a
plaque by his son, Managing Director Faiq Rehan Salie.
The company's official website was also launched by Faiq Salie.
The guest of honour, founding chairman of the Precision Lapidaries
and Chairman, N. Alawdeen Ltd, in Japan, Nilam Alawdeen who flew down
from Japan for the event, said that the company which started with only
five employees in 1995, has now become a top company internationally in
the field of sapphires and thanked everyone who contributed to the
successful growth of the company.
Precision Lapidaries is recognised for calibrated blue sapphire
gemstone exports and has won local and international recognition
including the Achiever Award (2003) presented by the National Gem and
Jewellery Authority.
Precision Lapidaries has a customer base of top internationally
renowned designer jewellery companies such as Tiffany's. It has 150
employees with over 100 professional gem designers (cutters). The
company continues to invests on employee training and carrier growth.
