Anthony Symons left and son Marlon

The father and son combination of Anthony Symons (72 years) and son Marlon participated in the USA annual five boro bike tour on May 3rd and returned to Sri Lanka on May 8th. They participated in the event for the second time. The father and son combination participation was eagerly looked forward to by many people and it turned out to be an enjoyable time.

The route followed was a testing one and it was after 14 years than Anthony participated in it. The five boro route was Manhatton, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten island going 42 miles and started at 10 a.m. and finished at 12.30 p.m. - Anthony's time was 2 hours 20 minutes.

It was the third time that Anthony was visiting USA and he was awarded the veterans trophy, having competed after 14 years.

Anthony's son finished the event in the over fifty category quite successfully.

The trip to the USA was quite an expensive are as Symons had to bear all the expenses for the trip by himself.
