Tear-free onions

Onions are a delicious addition to most meals but the chopping and cooking part of an onion dish often leaves the chef in tears. Tired of those pesky onions making people cry, a Japanese company has produced a 'tear-free' onion.Scientist say that they have managed to stop the onions producing the powerful substance which makes people cry when onions are cut open.

When we think about ice we think cold and fragile. We rarely think about ice as an art.

However, artists all over the world have used ice as their chosen material and the results are amazing! Imagine how hard it must have been to create such details in ice!







 


Zimbabwean dollar almost worthless

Zimbabweans will start exchanging 'quadrillions' of local dollars for a few US dollars next week as the Zimbabwe government gets rid of its almost worthless national currency.

The Zimbabwean government said customers who still have piles of old Zimbabwe and dollar notes can walk into any bank and get $1 for every $250 trillion. This means a person with a 100 trillion dollar bank note will receive 40 cents.
