Ravindu and Mihiliya win squash titles

Sri Lanka Number one ranked Ravindu Laksiri won the Men's open title defeating Gihan Suwaris 3-0, while top seeded Mihiliya Methsarani defeated bottom seed Fathoum Issadeen 3-0 to win Sri Lanka Squash Federation Open Squash Championship held recently.

Sri Lanka Squash Federation Open Championship was held from June 13 to 20 at the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Squash courts.

This tournament had the participation of 302 players which included junior events under the categories of under 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19. Under the men's age categories, over 35, masters over 45, veterans over 50 and men's open events were held.

Girls events was conducted under the categories of under 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and womens open.

Five novices event were introduced to attract new comers. This tournament's core sponsor was 'Mead Johnson' Nutrition, is from Baur & co. (pvt.) ltd. Chief guest for the event was Immediate Past President Of The SLSF, Rear Admiral Palitha Weerasinghe.
