Nawa Kalakaruwo at J.D.A. Perera Galleries

The Nineteenth yearly exhibition 'Nawa Kalakaruwo' - Emerging Young Artists - an exhibition of contemporary Sri Lankan art presented by the George Keyt Foundation, opened at the J.D.A. Perera Galleries, Colombo 7 yesterday (26) with a preview on Friday (25). The art on display are from a group of artists drawn from all parts of the country and have emerged through the several exhibitions and presentations 'Young Contemporaries' and from the 'Kala Pola' of each year over the past several years.

The opportunity for 'Art' these exhibitions and presentations have provided since the George Keyt Foundation was established in 1988, has led to an increasing number of participants. 'New Artists' emerge each year and this year too there are 'First Time' Nawa Kalakaruwo. The various other galleries which are now presenting individual and small group exhibitions have also contributed to the growing numbers.

'Nawa Kalakaruwo' showcases new and interesting paths, and different handling of the chosen medium. The exhibition, being held at Galleries No. 1 and 2 - University of Visual and Performing Arts, No. 46, Horton Place, Colombo 7 is open to the public from Saturday September 26 to Thursday October 1, 2015.
