I hope to be a philosopher

I wish to be like Martin Luther King, the philosopher who gave us a dream. I am Sashen Mathiesha and I study in Grade 10 at G/Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda. I wish to be a philosopher one day. A philosopher in the real sense is someone who studies philosophy. The term 'philosopher' comes from ancient Greek word 'philosophos' which means 'lover of wisdom.' No one believes that there are philosophers in modern society. Civilization is based on people's physical and mental labour. If there is no thinking capacity on this earth, what will be the outcome? I cannot imagine such a devastating scene and I think no one would fancy such a situation. What we inherit from our ancestors are wealth, knowledge and dreams.

They devoted themselves to build our society which was not for themselves but for their descendants. They had viewed it because there were outstanding philosophers in their time. That is why their society was so developed.
