Election victory anniversary:
President to launch development programs
 Commemorating his first year in office, which falls on January 8,
President Maithripala Sirisena will launch several national development
programs at the Presidential Secretariat.
The President will attend religious observances at the Kalutara Bodhi
on the 8th morning. A special program will also be held at the BMICH
where a journal will be launched.
The keynote address will be delivered by a foreign dignitary.
On the following day, the President will attend Parliament which will
function as a Constituent Assembly. The events will culminate in a
cultural pageant at Independence Square later in the evening. |
