IPM Sri Lanka inducts new members

IPM Sri Lanka recently inducted 37 new members at the 2015 New Member Induction and Certificate Awarding Ceremony at the auditorium of IPM Sri Lanka's head office 'HR House' in Colombo 5.


The newly inducted members with President, IPM, Rohitha Amarapala and Council Members.

The new members included HR professionals of blue-chip organisations in diverse industry segments in the public and private sectors.

The guest speaker was Group General Manager HR and Administration, Maliban Biscuit Manufacturers U. Bandula Perera, FIPM (SL).

President Rohitha Amarapala, Vice President Shanaka Fernando, Hon. Secretary C. Gannile, Hon. Treasurer Group Capt. K. W. Kirinde, Hon. Assistant Secretary Aruna Dayanatha, Deputy Chairman of the Membership Development Committee Namal Jayaweera, Himal Perera and other members of the Membership Development Committee, Members and Fellows of IPM Sri Lanka were also present.

President Amarapala said, "As one of the most active professional entities in Sri Lanka which has a membership of over 1,000 representing a cross section of Sri Lanka's private and public sector organisations, government departments and NGOs, IPM Sri Lanka has much to offer its members. We encourage and facilitate our membership to add value to themselves and IPM by engaging in HR related research and development, and to grow their own professional networks within and outside the country."

"You may well recall an example of one of IPM's distinguished fellows - Chris Obeyesekere - being recognised at a regional level, receiving the very first Asia Pacific HR Professional of the Year 2015 Award from the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management (APFHRM) recently. Such awards bring glory and recognition to the individual and the country and we at IPM Sri Lanka are proud to facilitate such activities," he said. Hon. Assistant Secretary of IPM Sri Lanka, Aruna Dayanatha also spoke.

IPM Sri Lanka keeps pace with the new trends and concepts in HR by engaging continuously with the business community to share experiences, thoughts and insights to enrich and enhance the HR profession.

It encourages and promotes members' participation at international conferences and fora to provide relevant exposure, build networks and conduct research on areas of interest to the HR profession in Sri Lanka.
