Jana Gee Ekassa and Dekassa Kids presentation 2016

The Ranwala Foundation organised a 'Jana Gee Ekassa and Dekassa presentation' for children at the Bishop's College Auditorium recently. The event was organised by Sahan Ranwala.

A teledrama and film actor, Ranwala is the Managing Director of Lionel Ranwala Folk Art Foundation. The Foundation has a collection of folk songs that are distributed in remote areas in the island. They are available for schools and University students to facilitate their educational pursuits.

The Foundation promotes people's awareness on folk songs through cultural shows, workshops and lectures throughout the island. It helps to raise the level of people's artistic appreciation.

The Foundation also directs, produces and holds art programs, cultural and musical programs and stage plays promoting folk songs and music. It provides the opportunity and training for students to improve their knowledge in folk songs, talents in singing and acting.
