Three suspects shot dead

Three persons, apparently wanted criminals, were found shot dead inside a car yesterday afternoon at Tirappane in Anuradhapura, Police said yesterday.

Police believe the shooting had occurred last afternoon and found the victims with multiple gunshot wounds. During investigations, two persons among the dead were identified as Sarath Bandara alias SF Bandara and Saman Kumara. Both were residents of the Nochchiyagama area and were notorious for committing murders and other crimes in the area.

The other victim has not yet been identified as of last night, Police said.

The Anuradhapura Magistrate and the Judicial Medical Officer visited the scene last evening. Tirappane Police is conducting further investigations.
