Royal draws first blood

Trinity loses first leg 22-17:

A spectacular try in the 36th minute of the second half by hooker Azmir Fajudeen enabled Royal College, Colombo to edge out traditional rivals Trinity College, Kandy by 22 points to 17 in the first leg of their 72nd annual Bradby Shield rugby encounter played at Royal College Sports Complex grounds, Reid Avenue yesterday.

 

Anthonians in nail-biting 23-22 win

In a match which had a fairytale finish St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota pulled off a sensational late try to beat Kingswood College by 23 points (2 goals, 3 penalties) to 22 (1 goal, 3 tries) in their schools Singer schools division I rugby match played at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy yesterday.
